A well established and reputable Montessori day nursery open for 46 weeks a year from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Montessori Teacher to join their team in Bow, East London. The nursery takes on children aged between 2 to 5 years old and strictly adopt the Montessori teaching philosophy.
As a Montessori Teacher your duties will include:
· Overall responsibility for planning and implementing the Montessori curriculum to a group of 2 to 5 years old children.
· Planning individual learning paths for this key group and maintaining records of their progress through the Montessori curriculum.
· Helping to maintain the ethos of the school as a Montessori setting, while recognising that young children need a broad spectrum of play and learning experiences to develop happily.
· Collecting information on individual children’s developmental progress with regards to the EYFS framework and the presentation of that information to parents as required.
An ideal Montessori Teacher will hold the following skills and experiences:
· Understanding of Montessori philosophy to underpin the way that children are cared for and developed at the nursery and who can integrate the use of the Montessori equipment into the children’s progress through the early learning goals.
· A full international Montessori Diploma.
· Experience of working in a Montessori setting.
· Have the confidence to plan themes and activities for their key children.
· Being a small nursery, a flexible approach is required by each member of the team, so a positive attitude and willingness to support each other is key to succeed.
